Adventure Light Tour

How to get there

The Adventure Light Tour goes through Northern Kyrgyzstan and Lake Issyk-Kul. Start and finish are in Bishkek. You can reach the tour start by plane, train, or car.

Main route points: Chon-Kemin Gorge (~145 km from Bishkek), Karakol (north shore of Issyk-Kul), Altyn-Arashan (hot springs), Jeti-Oguz, Barskoon, Skazka Canyon, and the southern shore of Issyk-Kul (Bokonbaevo area).

The route includes comfortable transfers on paved roads, as well as off-road sections on the Karakol → Altyn-Arashan route. For an individual tour, transport is provided for the entire route, including a UAZ / "bukhanka" transfer to Altyn-Arashan.

Adventure Light

An active tour for those who want adventure and dynamics without extreme exertion: mountain gorges, canyons, off-road to Altyn-Arashan, hot springs, and the most scenic spots of Issyk-Kul. Every day brings a new location and new experiences.

Day-by-Day Tour Program

Day 1. Bishkek → Chon-Kemin

  • Route: Bishkek – Chon-Kemin
  • Distance: ~145 km
  • Travel time: 3–3.5 hours

Transfer to the green mountain gorge Chon-Kemin. Accommodation in a guesthouse. Horseback riding in the gorge, relaxation in nature.

Overnight: Chon-Kemin

Day 2. Chon-Kemin → Karakol

  • Route: Chon-Kemin – Boom Gorge – Karakol
  • Distance: ~340 km
  • Travel time: 6–7 hours

Transfer along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. Stops at scenic spots along the way. Accommodation in Karakol, rest.

Overnight: Karakol (guesthouse / hotel)

Day 3. Karakol → Altyn-Arashan

  • Route: Karakol – Altyn-Arashan
  • Distance: ~30 km
  • Travel time: 1.5–2.5 hours (off-road)

Transfer to UAZ / "bukhanka". Ascent into Altyn-Arashan gorge. Hot springs, walks, and mountain relaxation.

Overnight: Altyn-Arashan (guesthouse / yurt)

Day 4. Altyn-Arashan → Karakol → Jeti-Oguz

  • Route: Altyn-Arashan – Karakol – Jeti-Oguz
  • Distance: ~110 km
  • Travel time: 3–4 hours

Descent from Altyn-Arashan. Transfer to Jeti-Oguz Gorge. Walk to the "Broken Heart" rocks, free time.

Overnight: Jeti-Oguz / surrounding area (guesthouse)

Day 5. Jeti-Oguz → Barskoon → Skazka Canyon → Bokonbaevo

  • Route: Jeti-Oguz – Barskoon – Skazka Canyon – Bokonbaevo
  • Distance: ~210 km
  • Travel time: 5–6 hours

Barskoon Gorge and waterfalls. Walk through Skazka Canyon. Evening — eagle, Taigan show, and archery.

Overnight: southern shore of Issyk-Kul (Bokonbaevo)

Day 6. Southern shore of Issyk-Kul → Bishkek

  • Route: Bokonbaevo – Bishkek
  • Distance: ~315 km
  • Travel time: 5–6 hours

Return to Bishkek with stops along the way. End of tour.
