How to get there

The Agro & Ethno Kyrgyzstan tour covers Northern and Central Kyrgyzstan and the Issyk-Kul region. Start and finish in Bishkek. You can reach the tour starting point by plane, train, or car.

Main stops along the route: Chon-Kemin Valley, Kochkor (craft traditions), highland Son-Kul Lake (yurt life), southern shore of Issyk-Kul (Bokonbayevo area), and ethno-activities along the route.

The tour format is agro and ethno: not a “sightseeing at a rush” route, but an opportunity to experience local culture up close. Accommodation in guesthouses and yurts (simple, clean conditions), participation in farming and craft activities. For individual tours, transport is provided for the entire route.

Daily Program

Day 1. Bishkek → Chon-Kemin

  • Route: Bishkek – Chon-Kemin
  • Distance: ~145 km
  • Travel time: 3–3.5 hours

Transfer to the green Chon-Kemin Valley. Introduction to rural life, walks around the area. Dinner with local products.

Overnight: Chon-Kemin (guesthouse)


Day 2. Chon-Kemin → Kochkor

  • Route: Chon-Kemin – Kochkor
  • Distance: ~220 km
  • Travel time: 4–5 hours

Transfer to Naryn region. Explore felt crafts and participate in traditional workshops.

Overnight: Kochkor (guesthouse)


Day 3. Kochkor → Son-Kul

  • Route: Kochkor – Son-Kul
  • Distance: ~150 km
  • Travel time: 4–5 hours

Ascend to highlands. Stay in yurts, meet a nomadic family and learn about their lifestyle.

Overnight: Son-Kul (yurt)


Day 4. Son-Kul

  • Route: Son-Kul surroundings
  • Distance: ~20–30 km

Full day in highland pastures. Participate in nomadic daily life, walks, relaxation, and free time.

Overnight: Son-Kul (yurt)


Day 5. Son-Kul → Southern shore of Issyk-Kul

  • Route: Son-Kul – southern shore of Issyk-Kul
  • Distance: ~320 km
  • Travel time: 6–7 hours

Descend from the highlands. Stay in a village guesthouse and relax.

Overnight: Southern shore of Issyk-Kul


Day 6. Southern shore of Issyk-Kul

  • Route: Bokonbayevo surroundings
  • Distance: ~60–80 km

Visit eagle and taigan shows, learn hunting traditions. Free time by the lake.

Overnight: Southern shore of Issyk-Kul


Day 7. Southern shore of Issyk-Kul → Bishkek

  • Route: Southern shore of Issyk-Kul – Bishkek
  • Distance: ~315 km
  • Travel time: 5–6 hours

Return to Bishkek with stops along the way.
